Ritwik is a specialist surgeon with fellowship training in KNEES, SHOULDERS, and SPORTS.
Ritwik looks after multi-ligament knee and isolated PCL injuries for the Taranaki population. He has particular expertise in double bundle ACL reconstruction, revision ACL surgery, and arthroscopic cuff repair. He also has an interest in patella stabilisation, shoulder stabilisation, and shoulder arthroplasty. He is currently involved in research in ACL surgery, patella stabilisation, total knee replacement, and shoulder trauma.
Ritwik is from Hamilton, graduated from Auckland Medical School, and completed his Orthopaedic training in Auckland and various centres in North Island. He subsequently subspecialised in knees, shoulders, and sports surgery at Unisports (Auckland) and Perth. This involved management of elite athletes and difficult sports injuries. He also completed a diploma in sports medicine and was a team doctor in Auckland Premier Grade Rugby.
