Dr Ritwik Kejriwal

ACL, Knee & Shoulder Surgeon

BHB MBCHB FRACS PGDipSportsMed

Dr Kejriwal is a New Zealand trained Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in ACL, knee and shoulder surgery, with particular interest in sports injuries and complex knee ligament reconstruction.

He combines advanced diagnostics with evidence-based treatment, from injury prevention and rehabilitation through to complex reconstructive and joint replacement surgery, with care tailored to each patient’s individual needs and goals.

Why I Do What I Do

My interest in sports orthopaedics is personal as well as professional.

At the age of 17, I underwent my first ACL reconstruction following a sporting injury, followed by a second one a few years later. That experience gave me an appreciation of the physical and mental challenges of recovery and inspired my career in orthopaedic surge.

Precision in Patient Care

Every successful outcome starts with an accurate diagnosis.

Dr Kejriwal has a low threshold for arranging MRI scans because they provide detailed information that cannot always be determined from examination alone. Early, high-quality imaging helps identify the exact injury, detect associated pathology and allows treatment to begin sooner.

Combined with close collaboration between surgeons, sports clinicians, specialist nurses, and rehabilitation specialists, this approach ensures patients are accurately triaged and directed to the most appropriate treatment pathway - whether that is rehabilitation, injection therapy or surgery.

A team approach to your care

Great outcomes are about more than surgery.

Dr Kejriwal’s team includes experienced specialist nurses, sports doctors, administrative staff and rehabilitation professionals, working closely with your own physiotherapist and healthcare providers where appropriate.

Together, they provide coordinated, evidence-based care from diagnosis through to rehabilitation and return to activity.
